Tech - Art

Today the year 7&8's went to Tamaki college for tech. The year 7's done cooking, some of the year 8's done art and the rest of the year 8's done 3D printing. I done art, for art we had to draw around a wood then draw some things from our culture on the paper in the box.

Narrative Writing - Afu

This week for writing we had to write a Narrative about James Bond, I chose to write a story about James Bond the FBI. My narrative is about James Bond stopping a fight at the supermarket, if you would like to know more read the story. A narrative is a made up story like fairy tales. 

Reading - ANZAC

This week for reading we had to write the main idea of a ANZAC poem. We had to work with a partner my partner was June, then we had to read the poem together, after we read the poem we had to write the main idea and 3 details, then we had to do read 3 more poems and find the main idea and 3 details.

Maths - Afu

Today for maths my maths group and I played a game on the court called Mathletic. We had to work with a buddy, my buddy was June.We had to answer 24 maths questions.To play this game you will need a pen, a pad paper, and yourself and your partner. First we had to get our question after we got our paper we had to run to the end of the court then answer our first question. June and I had a easy question to answer, the question was what comes one before and after 7, 531, the answer is 7,530 7,531 7,532. Then we needed to go to Tiare or Mrs D so that they can check the answer, when you get it right you get another question and run to the end of the court, then come back to your partner and answer the question.

Home learning - Statue of Liberty

This week for home learning our task was to create a DLO about the Statue of Liberty. We had to work in pairs and my partner is Jane. Jane and I chose to use Google slides. We have used the 5W's to explain  the information about the Statue of Liberty.

Care awards - Thank you letter

I have been working on my care award tasks. I chose to write a letter to my current teacher, Mrs Anderson. I think that Mrs Anderson is really nice and kind to me. I also think that Mrs Donaldson and Mrs Kirk Patrick is amazing too.

Maths multi - Afu

Today for maths I played a game called Maths multi. I think this is a good result because I am not really good at my timetables. I am proud of my self because it only took 45 seconds to answer 20 my 5 timetables.

Rounding code breaker - Afu

This week for maths we had to round the numbers up to the nearest 1's, 10's, 100's, and 1000's. We had to unlock the code breaker, the letters were mucked up and we had to try and put the word together to make a whole sentence, the sentence was Maths is my favourite subject. I found the task quite hard because I kept on trying to find out the answer, but luckily I got the answers right. Our learning intention was To round whole numbers to the nearest 1, 10, 100, and 1000.

Current events - Afu & Jorja

Today we learnt about the Auckland bus strike. We were all in pairs my partner was Jorja. Our learning intention is to Identify the 5W's of a current event. We learnt that the bus drivers were proud to let the public know how they felt, but the public was furious because they had no way to get their children to school and they had no way to get to work.

Care award - Inspirational Quotes

This is a DLO from the care award tasks. I chose to do this task because I wanted people to know some Inspirational quotes I liked. My favourite quote is "No matter what you look like I think the key to happiness is to be happy with yourself." I think it is an inspiring quote because some people say to them self that they are ugly and when they think of the quote they will think to them self that they are not ugly.

Care award - Read 3 Novels

This is a DLO from the care award tasks. I chose to do this care award task because these books are good to read and these books are in our school library. My favourite book is The Search for Treasure, this is my favourite book because it inspires me. This book is about Geronimo Stilton finding treasure and he comes to a castle were a Evil witch lives if you will like to know more go to our school library and check it out.
